Benefit Sharing Fund Project

The Benefit Sharing Fund (BSF) project is implemented in Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia with funding from the International Treaty for Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA) through the United Nation's Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).

In Malawi, CEPA implements the project in Rumphi, Mzimba and Chikwawa Districts in collaboration with the Biodiversity Conservation Initiative (BCI) and Malawi Plant Genetic Resources Centre (MPGRC). The project will run from 2016 to 2019. The aim of the project is to contribute to improved food and nutrition security in selected low rainfall areas of Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe, the areas most seriously affected by conditions of climate change.
